A little about me

Hi I'm Jennifer

I am a perinatal support worker (PNSW) and certifying birth doula operating out of Welland Ontario. I service growing families within the Niagara Region and Hamilton area.

I am also a mother of three children, two boys and a girl and I am happily married to my husband.
I have always been extremely passionate about helping people. My career began in 2012 as a Personal Support Worker (PSW). After the birth of my first son in 2017, I quickly realized I wanted to work with birthing persons and their families. As a first-time mom, I felt that my feelings/questions were not valid or heard during my experience with my care providers. I wasn't aware of the various supports and rights I had especially during labour and delivery. Now, knowing the services that are available during this process allows for families to have a much more successful and positive holistic experience.

Once I had my second son, I decided to return to school while I was on my maternity leave as I recognized my passion for working with growing families. During my educational program through Mohawk College, I discovered just how I can provide support to women and their families during prenatal, labour/delivery as well as postpartum services. During my practicum hours, I worked closely with a variety of families providing various services which has led to the development of the individualized, unique services that I offer today. I love working with new parents and their little ones. I feel honoured to be a part of each individual's experience, watching the evolution of expecting parents, to the moment your little one is brought into the world.

My goal as your Perinatal Support Worker

is to support and empower birth persons, their partners, and their families. Whether you are expecting for the first time, transitioning to parenthood, or transitioning to a family with multiple little ones, I am here to help in any way you need.

If you need more information about me or have any questions please feel free to reach out!
